THEME: Changes in International Studies
        Tennessee State University invites you to attend a conference of the International Studies Association-South.  Individual proposals and panels can focus on change in the theories and approaches of International Relations. We welcome proposals that deal with International Studies in general or a particular geographic region. In addition we also encourage papers that analyze recent electoral changes that have taken place and their potential or actual implications for international relations. Proposals and panels on change in the teaching of International Studies are also welcomed. These can emphasize innovations regarding study abroad, service learning, and simulations such as Model UN.

The conference will take place in Nashville, Tennessee - Music City USA! Nashville is the state capital of Tennessee. Among the attractions Nashville has to offer are the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame as well as the Parthenon in Centennial Park. Nashville is a center for the healthcare industry as well as the home to many colleges and universities. Our other nickname is the Athens of the South.  Nashville is also convenient too much of the Southwest and Midwest. We are about 3 hours from Memphis, 4 hours from Atlanta, and 2 hours from Southern Illinois.  Tennessee State University is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) founded in 1912. It serves approximately 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
 
The Nashville International Airport is serviced by many airlines, including discount airlines such as Frontier and Southwest.  The Hotel Preston is right near the airport and located off Briley Parkway near Interstate I-40. The Hotel Preston is convenient to great shopping and entertainment, particularly Opry Mills Mall and the Grand Ole Opry. Parking is free at the hotel and shuttle transportation to and from the airport is available.
