Conference Guidelines
In order to facilitate dialogue and audience interaction, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Official listing on the Program is a commitment to attend the meeting. ISA takes this professional responsibility seriously and is developing procedures to track attendance patterns. Individuals listed on the preliminary program who cannot attend must contact the Program Chair immediately. All others are expected to participate as listed.
PRESENTERS should send their papers to all members of the panel no later than two weeks in advance of the Conference. If the paper is incomplete, forward a working draft version.
PRESENTERS should take 12-15 minutes to present their findings and/or commentary.
PRESENTERS should provide only a summary, highlighting the basic points of the paper (such as the research question, research strategy, and major research findings or conclusions). More specific details should be saved for the question-and-answer period. Handouts are always appreciated by members of the audience (especially at roundtable sessions). PRESENTERS are encouraged to bring extra copies of their papers for distribution.
DISCUSSANTS should be given 10 minutes to discuss papers.
CHAIRS should politely, but earnestly enforce these guidelines. For example, they should inquire about the status of the papers to insure that they have been received two weeks before the conference and, during the panel, notify the presenter or discussant when no more than two minutes of his/her formal time remains.

Travel Support
ISA-South will provide up to 15 graduate student stipends of $150 each to help defray the cost of attendance. Priority will be accorded to members of ISA-South. Membership in ISA-South means that the applicant is a member of ISA who: a) checked off the ISA-South membership box; or b) who lives in the geographical area of ISA-South. When submitting their proposal, students, who wish to be considered for travel support, should state in a separate brief memo to the program chair how participation in the conference will influence their professional development.  This information should be attached with your paper proposal and is also due by the same deadline: July 15, 2010.
